hi! my name is Nyla (Ny for short) a local librarian who enjoys playing guitar, writing, and asking one gazillion questions. I have always had an affinity for long winded responses and spent much of my youth sending wordy emails to my friends from a now defunct Yahoo account. I am hoping to feel that same high by sending letters to new friends on here :) My favorite colors are any shades of green and lighter blues. Think of the Frutiger Aero aesthetic, that is like my entire vibe summed up. I love anything beachy, Y2K, naturey, futuristic, animals, etc.

I am a product of the 2000s and so emo/pop-punk music has dominated my playlists my entire life. I have been to 8 Fall Out Boy concerts and have seen Weezer, Panic! at the Disco, and Green Day before. I was a huge Swiftie growing up too!

I LOVE sci-fi! My favorite authors are Octavia Butler and Becky Chambers. I am trying to catch up on a lot of the classics from the 70s! Making my way through Ursula K. Le Guin and H.G. Wells at the present.

I recently got a subscription to our local art house theatre and have been catching up on a ton of "must-sees" that I missed out on. I'm a huge lover of horror movies especially a good horror comedy. Some of my favorite titles in general are: Jennifer's Body, Stick It, The Truman Show, and Jurassic Park.

I'm a big fan of anime! I have been watching since I was a kid. Some favorites of mine include Frieren, Banana Fish, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Sk8 the Infinity!

I love running and being in nature. Most of my Summers were spent at our local beach along the Texas Gulf Coast and I believe that is where my love for the environment and conservation really began! I want to travel more and visit all the beautiful places the world has to offer. Tell me about your beautiful places and homes!

I also love writing! Short stories and fanfiction mostly, some poetry and a lot of journal writing when I remember my journal exists.
