Altering sardine cans is really fun!Since so many people like Frida Kahlo I am hosting on this theme.This sardine can is from Patty Szymkowicz. Her blog is: http://bitze.wordpress.com For this swap you will recycle a sardine can and alter in any way you want.It can be a shrine ,a wall hanging, a doll,etc..Use any medium you want, fabric,paint,fun objects,etc... I consider this a time consuming craft.We dont want to see only 2 flower stickers around Frida,be creative! Sorry but no newbies,no unexplained bad rattings and you must login 4 days before the swap partners are given.I will ban people that have not been online. HAVE FUN!

Frida Kahlo is esp appropriate to me bc my favourite tin art pieces, especially wall sconces, tend to be Mexico-made. I eyeballed an awesome sardines tin last week but I don't eat them so didn't buy it. Now it wouldn't be wasteful. ;) (I bet my cat would eat them.)

For this swap I would like the tin can to be a sardine one.There has been many swaps for altoid tins but sardine cans is a little less known,so I think it would be better to experiment with this shape.For a future swap,maybe I will host ones that are a little more unusual like round tuna fish cans ,soda cans,etc.. I have seen that in Mexico there are crafty people that make shrines with sardine cans called "nichos".

I'm more of smoked oyster kind of girl...same can shape/size just different innards...please confirm it's just the shape we're going for?

Yep, a similar shape is fine (if they are kind of rectangular and deep enough to decorate inside). Remember everybody that sardines are full of omega 3 s so crafting with these can be a bonus to your health ! Lol
