I just signed up and was also thinking that if I have the correct spices for the recipes I choose, I am also including them in the envelope. Yay! Oh vegan or vegetarian is fine with me. ;)

Dumb question time: isn't vegetarian and vegan the same thing?? I know I have vegetarian recipes, not sure about the "vegan"...

no, vegans do not eat any animal products as well. Most strictly "vegetable" soups are vegan as well, but nothing with dairy products, eggs, honey (yes, even honey), etc. Vegetarians do not eat ANY meat. I've heard some people claim they know vegetarians who eat chicken or fish. Authentic vegetarians eat no animals, including chicken and fish. Thanks for asking.

Yes.. it is truly a culture that many people are unaware of. I'll never forget being brought chicken when I told someone at a party I was a vegetarian. Ha!

My recipes will not be original, that's for sure... just pulled from my favorite cookbooks which have many veggie/ vegan ideas.

either is fine. for vegetarian I always try to explain "nothing that had a face"--thinking about the fish, chicken and other meats I have been offered when I said I was a vegetarian. Including the spices is a great idea, it is hard sometimes to find the specific ones and especially on some of the 'broth type' spices, hard to find vegetarian ones at times.
